Calvin Smith

Mr. Calvin Russell Smith, 81 went home to be with his Lord on Tuesday, March 16, 2010 at Central MS Medical Center. Visitation is Wednesday, March 17, 2010 at Chancellor Funeral Home in Florence from 5-8 p.m. and Thursday, 1-2 p.m. prior to the 2 p.m. service in the funeral home chapel. Interment will follow in Floral Hills Cemetery in Pearl.\ \ A long time resident of the Star/Florence area and former owner of Star Bakery for over 20 years, Mr. Smith enjoyed woodworking, fishing and shrimping. He was a member of Wesleyanna United Methodist Church in Star.\ \ He is survived by his wife, Eunice Smith; daughters: Bettye Housley and husband Gerald of Florence, Patricia Tyler of Frankfort, KY, Katherine Day and husband Chester of Vicksburg and Virginia Wood of Pelahatchie; 8 granddaughters, 20 great grandchildren and 2 great-great grandchildren.\
