Mr. Carl Hubert Bunkley, 72, went home to be with the Lord Tuesday, April 1 at Hospice Ministries. Visitation is Wednesday 5-8 p.m. at Chancellor Funeral Home in Florence and Thursday beginning at 12 until services at 2 p.m. at First Baptist Church in Florence. Interment will follow in Richland Cemetery.\ \ Mr. Bunkley, a member of Bakers and Confectionery Union, worked for Colonial Bakery for 31 years and for Sanderson Farms for 13 years prior to retirement in 1998. He loved to garden. He was a member of First Baptist Church of Florence.\ \ He was preceded in death by his wife, Faye Harrison Bunkley, son, Michael Arthur Bunkley and father, Elbert B. Bunkley.\ \ He leaves behind his mother, Bessie Armstrong of Brandon; sons: Eddie Carl (Peggy) Bunkley of Pearl, Anthony Ray (Tony) Bunkley of Monterey, Timothy Dale (Melinda) Bunkley of Brandon; step-sons: David (Terry) Harrison of Nashville, TN and Ken (Johnnie Mae) Harrison of Florence; daughter, Karen Elise (Hal) Bowman of Chelsea, AL, step-daughters; Linda (Emmett) Calvert of Philadelphia, Dianne (Greg) Workman of Lexington, KY; brother Roger Bunkley of Brandon; daughter-in-law, Karol Strange Bunkley of Meridian; sisters: Anne Jeffries of Sevierville, TN, Barbara Knabb of White Oak; former wife, Martha Bunkley Ferrell of Monterey; 14 grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren.\ \ The family would like to thank the following for the love and care given to Mr. Bunkley: Hinds Urology Clinic and Kapil Pareek, MD, Jackson Oncology Association and Manu Patel, MD, Lakeland Nursing and Rehab and Todd Fulcher, MD, The Heritage House of Castlewoods and Hospice Ministries.\ \ Memorials may be made to First Baptist Church of Florence Building Fund, PO Box 97, Florence, MS 39073.
