Carl Durr

Mr. Carl Clayton Durr, 77, died at St. Dominic Hospital on Friday, May 28, 2010. Visitation will be Saturday, May 29, 2010 from 5-8 p.m. at Chancellor Funeral Home in Florence and 1 p.m. Sunday at First Baptist Church Florence. Services will follow at 2 p.m. Sunday with Mr. Durr being laid to rest in Florence Cemetery.\ \ Mr. Durr was a graduate of Good Hope High School in Lake, MS. He was a retired counselor with the state of Louisiana. He was a member and deacon of First Baptist Church-Florence. His favorite pastime was fishing.\ \ He was preceded in death by his first wife, the late Evelyn Tucker Durr and his parents: the late Shelby and Allie Mae Everett Durr.\ \ He is survived by his wife, Martha Ann Courtney Durr of Florence; sister, Clara Lou Swearinger of Meridian; brother and sister-in-law, Dewey and Etta Rae Courtney; 3 nephews; 3 nieces; 3 great nephews and 2 great nieces; numerous cousins and friends.\ \
