Carl Robert Parker

Carl Robert Parker, aged 87, accepted his heavenly call home on November 25, 2024. Carl was born in Winser, LA, to John Wilburn Parker and Rosalie Parker. He lived in Florence, Mississippi, for 60 years.

Carl worked as a brick layer and also served his country in the United States Army. He was a member of Harrisville Baptist Church and taught Sunday School for 40 years. He loved reading maps and studying geography, traveling with his wife, gardening (especially growing tomatoes), and serving on the Harrisville School Board. He was well-respected within his community and will be remembered for his generous spirit. 

Carl is preceded in death by his parents, John Wilburn Parker and Rosalie Parker; his wife, Gwen Parker; and his three brothers, James Parker, Earl Parker, and Ray Parker. He is survived by his children, “Bull” Douglas Eichwurtzle (Penny), Russell Parker (Rita), and Kathy Erwin (Gene); his grandchildren, Jason, Chris, Bradley, Zac, and Grayson; and 9 great-grandchildren. 

Visitation for Carl will take place on Friday, November 29, 2024, at Harrisville Baptist Church from 1:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. with a funeral service to follow at the same location. In lieu of flowers, please donate to the Harrisville Baptist Church Brotherhood.
