Carlos Grey Corley, age 88, of Florence, Mississippi died January 1, 2013 at Mississippi Baptist Medical Center. Carlos was born May 16, 1924, in Linden, AL to Lavander Price and Jessie Mayton Corley. He was a graduate of Mississippi College with a master degree in education and his doctorate work in education leadership at Mississippi State University. He was a Veteran of the United States Navy Seabees during WWII serving in GuadalcanaI and the Solomon Islands. Carlos was an administrator in the Meridian Public School for twenty years. After his retirement he moved to Florence and became an active member, Sunday school teacher and deacon at Victory Congregational Methodist Church. He worked as an instructor with American Red Cross, volunteered with his church and various non-profit organizations. He loved God, his country, his family, his church family and friends and always had a special place in his heart for the youth of all ages. \ Carlos was preceded in death by his parents, three sisters, three brothers and one step son. He is survived by his wife Nancy "June" Foster Corley, sister Lucille Nichols of AL, three children Judith Cope, Edgar Corley, Marvin Corley all of Texas, 3 step children Rosemary McGaughrin, Shelley Daniels, and Allison Clark, six grandchildren, ten step grandchildren, three great grandchildren, six step great grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews. \ Services will be 11:00 a.m. Saturday, January 5, 2013 in the chapel at Chancellor Funeral Home, Florence, MS with visitation at Chancellor Funeral Home from 5:00 - 8:00 p.m., Friday, January 4 and Saturday 10:00 - 11:00 a.m\
