Carol Morgan

Mrs. Carol M. Morgan, 75, went home to be with her Lord on Thursday, January 21, 2010 at Central MS Medical Center. Visitation will be Friday, from 5-8 p.m. at Chancellor Funeral Home in Florence and 1- 2 p.m. on Saturday. Services will be at the funeral home chapel at 2 p.m. Saturday. Interment will be in Garden of Memories.\ \ Mrs. Morgan was born in Marion County to K.C. and Sarah Merritt. She worked with the MS State Health department for 10 years and was a saleswoman with Mary Kay Cosmetics. She was a member of Star Baptist Church.\ \ She was preceded in the death by a grandson, Jay Morgan.\ \ She is survived by her husband of 57 years, Lauris V. Morgan, Jr.; son, Tony (Jane) Morgan of Florence; daughter, Donna (Thomas) Watkins of Brandon; brother Rev. Augusta Merritt of Newton; sister, Norma Temple of Pearl; grandchildren: Shanna (Shane) Gregory of Brandon, Sara (Jared) Morrison of Florence and Wade Watkins of Brandon; one great granddaughter, Tori Morgan of Florence.\ \ Memorials may be made to Gideon International or St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, Memphis, TN.\
