Carol Smith

Roma Carol Smith, 74, passed away on Monday, July 04, 2022 in Jackson, MS. Visitation will be held at Chancellor Funeral Home in Florence, MS on Wednesday, July 06, 2022 from 6:00 p.m.—8:00 p.m. and again on Thursday, July 07, 2022 from 12:00 p.m. until the hour of the service at 1:00 p.m. Interment will follow at Oak Grove Cemetery in Pinola, MS.

Carol was born in Jackson, MS on February 23, 1948. She loved the Lord and was a member of Clear Branch Baptist Church, where she enjoyed attending her Sunday school class. She also enjoyed watching movies and television (especially the Andy Griffith Show), taking naps, and talking on the phone. Carol could often be found sitting on her front porch, reading her Bible and watching the birds. Most of all, Carol loved her family, especially her grandchildren.

Carol was preceded in death by her parents, Powell Grady McFall and Mary Christine McFall; her husband, Colon K. Smith; her infant child, Stephen Kelly Dempsey Smith; grandson, Joshua Kelly Smith; and son-in-law, Robert Nixon.

She is survived by her children, Lisa Nixon, Tammie Coleman (Lee), and Kelly Smith; grandchildren, Christy Trigleth (Robert), Robert “Bobby” Nixon (Taylor), Brandon Coleman, Hannah Smith (Dalton), Matthew Coleman, and Cayce Willis (Wes); great-grandchildren, Hunter, Haley, and Hayes Lippert and one-on-the-way, Lillian Jane Nixon, due in August; brothers and sisters, Pat McFall, Jeff McFall (Janice), and Alice Floreke (Gene); aunt, Hilda Pritchard (Jim); and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
