Carolyn H. Martin

Carolyn Martin went to be with her Lord and Savior on Monday, December 2, 2024, at Mississippi Baptist Hospital, after a brief illness. She was 87 years old. The family will receive friends and extended family for visitation from 10:00-11:00 a.m. Wednesday, December 4, 2024, at Chancellor Funeral Home in Florence, MS. The funeral service will follow at 11:00 a.m. Burial will reconvene at Brister Cemetery at 2:00 p.m. in Durant, MS.

Carolyn was born on November 29, 1937, to Fred and Louise Ellard in Holmes County Mississippi. She was a faithful employee of the Mississippi Attorney General’s Office for many years. She married the love of her life, Mr. Paul Martin. Together they were members of First Baptist Church of Jackson. She and Paul enjoyed decorating their home and grounds for Christmas. The couple loved to travel and spent many hours tending to their flowers and garden.

Carolyn is preceded in death by her husband, Paul Martin; parents, Fred and Louise Ellard; and her faithful dog Bo. She leaves behind cousins and loving neighbors and friends. The most giving of all friends was Kristi Adcock. She will be greatly missed.
