Carolyn Sue Mixson

Carolyn Sue Mixson passed away on Monday, June 10, 2024, in The Woodlans, TX. She was 73 years old. The family will receive friends and extended family for visitation from 5:00-7:00 p.m. on Thursday, June 20, 2024, and again from 9:00-10:00 a.m. on Friday, June 21, 2024, at Chancellor Funeral Home in Florence, MS. The funeral service will begin at 10:00 a.m. Interment will follow the service at Clear Branch Cemetery in Florence, MS.

Carolyn was born on May 9, 1951, to Thomas Cecil Jones and Bessie Stewart Jones in Jackson, MS. She loved to surf the internet, spend time with her friends and her son, William Howell Mixson II, and gossip. She also loved old country music like Merle Haggard, Charlie Pride and Conway Twitty. Carolyn was a mother, sister, and a friend.

Carolyn is preceded in death by her parents; husband, William Howell Mixson; and brother, Thomas D. Jones. She is survived by her son, William Howell Mixson II (Tracy); sisters, Patsy J. White (Gary), and Betty J. Holt (Jeff); step-grandchildren, Devin Montgomery, and Ashleigh Woods; and step-great grandchildren, Addisyn Montgomery, Kyleigh Nash, and Killian Miller.
