Carolyn Tatum Tew

Carolyn Tatum Tew crossed over into her Heavenly home on Thursday, October 5, 2023, at her home in Pearl, MS. She was 88 years old. The family will receive friends for visitation from 2:00-3:00 p.m. on Saturday, October 14, 2023, at Truitt Memorial Baptist Church in Pearl, MS. The Memorial Service will follow at 3:00 p.m.

Carolyn was born on May 20, 1935, to Henry Olen and Mary Dennis Tatum in Leake County, MS. She has lived in the Pearl community for the past 20 years where she was a member of Truitt Memorial Baptist Church. There she was active with the women’s group and most all activities. Carolyn enjoyed doing crossword puzzles and reading.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Olen and Mary Tatum; husband, James Tew and her sisters, Nona Tatum Peoples, Mary Tatum Ferguson, Dean Tatum Sylvester and Jimmie Kay Tatum Sistrunk and Beverly Sue Tatum Cumberland; brothers, J.D. Tatum and Ronald Tatum. She is survived by her sisters, Barbara Tatum Kemp (Pat) of Goshen Springs, Retta Tatum Culberson of Pelahatchie, and Sandra Tatum Loftin of Prentiss and a host of nieces and nephews.
