Mrs. Catherine Lee Buffington

Catherine Lee Buffington, born on August 19, 1934, was welcomed into heaven at 2:15 p.m. on Thursday, November 4, 2021 with her girls surrounding her. Catherine was a good and faithful servant of the Lord and a caregiver and faithful friend to many. She was a Sunday school teacher to preschoolers most of her life. After retiring from UMMC gift shop, she worked at Terry Drugs for many years. Catherine was preceded in death by the love of her life, her husband, James Robert Buffington; her parents, Joe "Big Daddy" and Ruby "Othermomma" McDonald; daughter, Robbie Jane Moss; and great-grandson, Auden Sykes. She is survived by daughters, Linda Wigley (Roy), Jo Ann Adair (Charles), and Debbie Jones (Richard); 6 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild; and brothers, James Edward McDonald and Billy Joe McDonald(Frances). Visitation will be held at Chancellor Funeral Home in Byram on Sunday, November 7, 2021 from 2:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. and again on Monday, November 8, 2021 from 1:00 p.m. until the hour of the service at 2:00 p.m. Interment will follow at Terry Cemetery in Terry, MS. Pall bearers will be grandsons, Cliff Wigley, Ray Adair, Michael Adair, Daniel Jones and great-grandsons, Justin Lichte, Donovan Lichte.
