Cecil Odom, Jr.

Cecil Odom, Jr., born on April 14, 1965, in Jackson, Mississippi, passed away on February 24, 2025, at St. Dominic Jackson Memorial Hospital. He was a beloved husband, father, grandfather, and brother whose warmth and kindness touched the lives of many.

Cecil was known for his passion for outdoor activities. He loved hunting and fishing, often sharing these interests with those closest to him. He enjoyed watching outdoor shows on television, finding joy in the beauty of nature and the thrill of adventure. Cecil cherished spending quality time with his children, instilling in them a love for the outdoors and creating lasting memories that will be treasured by his family.

Cecil is preceded in death by his father, Cecil Odom, Sr.; mother, Dorothy Dearman Odom; daughter, Tiffney Turner; brother, Richard Odom; granddaughter, Julie Turner, and father-in-law, David Bradley, Sr. He is survived by his devoted wife of 38 ½ years, Theresa Odom; children, Michael (Kathryn) Newman, Elizabeth Newman, Shyan Newman, and Heather (Justin) Odom; grandchildren, Joseph “Joey” Turner, Emma Turner, Justin Turner, Brian Turner, Haylee Turner, Cecelia Bruhl, Jonathan Bruhl, Jr., Madison Bailey, and Easton Williams; brother, James (Katie) Odom; mother-in-law Cheryl Bradley and a host of aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, nephews and friends.

Visitation will be held on March 6, 2025, from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM, followed by the funeral service at 11:00 AM at Chancellor Funeral Home in Florence, Mississippi. The family invites all who knew Cecil to join them in celebrating a life well-lived and to share in the memories that will forever remain in their hearts.
