Cecil L. Wade

Cecil Lavell Wade, 85, passed away Sunday, November 6, 2011 at the VA Home in Jackson, MS. Visitation will be 5-8pm Tuesday, November 8, 2011 and 12noon until the 1:00pm funeral service Wednesday, November 9, 2011, all at Chancellor Funeral Home in Byram. Interment will follow at Lakewood Memorial Park.\ \ Mr. Wade served during WWII with the USAAF, 8th Air Force, 34th Bomb Group as a Ball Turrett Gunner on a B-17G. His squadron participated in Operation Manna/Chowhound in May, 1945. He attended Mississippi College, earning a degree in Business Administration and worked as an Insurance Appraiser of automobiles & heavy machinery for independent auto appraisers & Wade Appraisal Service.\ \ Mr. Wade was a member of McDowell Rd. Baptist Church in Jackson for many years where he formed many long lasting friendships.\ \ He loved the outdoors where he enjoyed hunting & fishing, which he did often with friends & family.
