Charlene Tucker

Mrs. Charlene George Tucker, 89 passed away on February 3, 2010 at her home surrounded by her loving family. Visitation will be Thursday, February 4, 2010 from 5-8 p.m. at Chancellor Funeral Home in Florence and Friday 10-11 a.m. at Mt. Zion Baptist Church prior to the 11 a.m. services at the church. Burial will be in Clear Branch Cemetery.\ \ Mrs. Tucker was born February 3, 1921 to Andrus and Bernice Harper George. She lived in the Clear Branch community all of her adult life. Along with her husband of 68 years, Russell, she was a charter member of Mt. Zion Baptist Church. Her favorite pastimes were cooking, gardening, and spending time with family.\ \ She was preceded in death by her husband, parents, son, Max Tucker, brothers: John George, Earl George and sister, Hazel Rauschenbach.\ \ Survivors include her daughter, Diane Clark and husband, Bobby of Florence; sons: Lavern Tucker and wife JoAnn of Brandon, Steven Tucker and wife Cece of Florence; sisters: Jeanette Hellums, Margie Harthcock, Evelyn Armstrong; brother, Edgar George; sister-in-laws: Matt Cleveland, Ruth Overstreet, Dot George and Frances George; 11 grandchildren; 15 great grandchildren and numerous nieces, nephews and friends.\ \ The family wishes to thank Wanda Wagner, Rita Walker and the staff of Sta-Home Hospice and her caregiver, Callie Washington for their special care.\ \ In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Mt.
