Mr. W. Charles Ainsworth, 78, went to be with the Lord on Sunday, December 19, 2010 at Mississippi Baptist Medical Center in Jackson.\ \ Visitation is 4-7pm Monday at Chancellor Funeral Home in Byram and 1-2pm Tuesday at Morrison Heights Baptist Church in Clinton. Funeral Services are 2pm Tuesday at the church with burial following at Florence City Cemetery.\ \ Born in Simpson County to the late Buford and Kate Dear Ainsworth, Mr. Ainsworth had lived in Clinton since 1980. He graduated from Gulfport High School, attended University of Southern Mississippi and Perkinston Junior College, where he played basketball. Mr. Ainsworth worked at Entergy for over 50 years and was instrumental in Entergy Quarter Century Club's fund raising for the Ronald McDonald House. He had been a member of Morrison Heights Baptist Church for 30 years.\ \ Mr. Ainsworth is preceded in death by his parents and his sister, Louise Neely.\ \ He is survived by his wife of 57 years, Ruth Watts Ainsworth; his children, Vicki Heafner, Willie Ainsworth (Robin), Beverly Ainsworth, and Cristy Bath (Chad); his grandchildren, Justin McLendon (Christie), Ryan Ainsworth, Jeremy McLendon (Marcille), Allie Heafner, Eric Ainsworth, and Madye Bath; his great grandchildren, Ollie Grace McLendon, Marlee McLendon, Charles McLendon, Braxton Ainsworth, Joshua and Caleb McLendon; his sisters, Ina Mae McLeod and Beth Miller\ \ In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to Morrison Heights Baptist Church Children's Building Fund or Ronald McDonald House\ \ The family wishes to thank MBMC, Dr. Jon Michael Beall, Dr. Jeff Glover and Dr. Austin Fred Parker for the care given to Mr. Ainsworth during his illness.\
