Mr. Charles D. Bridges Sr.

Charles “Chuck” David Bridges, 86, passed away Sunday, August 11, 2013 at his home in Florence. Visitation will be Wednesday, August 14th from 9am until the 12pm funeral service at Chancellor Funeral Home in Florence. Burial will be at 2:30pm at the Mississippi Veteran’s Memorial Cemetery in Newton. Mr. Bridges has lived in Florence for 42 years moving from Jackson. He was a member at First Baptist Church of Florence. After retiring from Glass Containers, he opened The Prop Shop in Flowood. Mr. Bridges is preceded in death by his parents, his brother, William “Bill” Bridges and his sister, Alice Joyce Thurmond. He is survived by his wife of 61 years, Jannie Alderman Bridges of Florence; his son, David (Beverly) Bridges of Florence; his daughter, Becky (Rocky) Meadows of Ocean Springs; 4 grandchildren, Ashley (Byron) Allred, Amber (Brandon) Synesael, Adrienne Bridges, and Brooke Bridges; and 4 great grandchildren, Anna Kate, Gabby Claire, Brooks and Lainey Belle.
