Charles Henry Gunn, Jr., 88, passed away Thursday, September 29, 2011 at his home in Raymond. Visitation will be 4-7pm Friday, September 30, 2011 at Chancellor Funeral Home in Byram. Services will be 11am Saturday, October 1, in the funeral home chapel with a one hour visitation prior to the service. Interment will follow at Clinton Cemetery.\ \ Mr. Gunn was raised in Jackson, AL and lived most of his life in Clinton. He was a Veteran of the U.S. Army having served in the Pacific Theater during WWII. Mr. Gunn retired after 43 years of service, as Materials Inspector for the MS Department of Transportation. He was an avid gardener ,known as "The Pickle Man" and was a faithful member of Lakeshore Congregational Methodist Church.\ \ He is preceded in death by his grandson Sid Wesley Champion and sister Catherine Vandercook.\ \ Survivors include his wife of 63 years Ruth Buchanan Gunn of Raymond; daughters Carol (Cleve) Daniel of Terry, Cathy (Russell) McClaskey of Clinton and Janet (Sid) Champion of Clinton; grandchildren Brian W. Daniel of Terry, Emily G. Garcia (John) of Clinton, Caitlin Smith (Don) of Utica, Wyatt A.
