Charles Alfred Harrell, 64, passed away Monday, December 8, 2014 at VA Medical Center in Jackson. Visitation will be 5-8pm Tuesday, December 9, 2014 and 9am until the 10am funeral service Wednesday, December 10, 2014, all at Chancellor Funeral Home in Byram. Graveside services will follow at 2pm Wednesday at Cedar Grove Baptist Church Cemetery in Good Hope, MS. Mr. Harrell was born in Carthage, MS to the late Archie and Hattie Odom Harrell. A Veteran of the U.S. Army/Airborn Unit, Mr. Harrell was very active with the Masonic Lodge Capital 600. He was a 32 degree Scottish Rite Mason and member of the Wahabi Temple where he was a Shriner. He enjoyed southern gospel music and was a loving husband, father and grandfather who had a wonderful sense of humor. He retired from Entergy after 30 years of service and attended Parkhill Baptist Church. He is preceded in death by two brothers, two sisters and his parents. Survivors include his wife Janice Marie Whitfield Harrell of Richland; son Charlie Harrell of Clinton; brother Ollie Harrell; sisters Cat Bigby, Hazel Purvis, Willie Carter, Frankie Griffin and Betty Loper; grandchildren; Aleila and Charlie Harrell whom he loved dearly.
