Charles Larry Johnson, Sr., 69, passed away Sunday, July 10, 2016 at UMMC in Jackson. Visitation will be 5-8pm Tuesday, July 12, 2016 at Chancellor Funeral Home in Byram. There will also be a visitation Wednesday, July 13 from 12:00noon until 2:00pm, funeral services beginning at 2:00pm Wednesday in the funeral home chapel. Interment will immediately follow at Leesburg Baptist Church Cemetery. Mr. Johnson was born in Ludlow, MS to the late Lewis C. and Ida Johnson. He retired from the construction industry as a Glazer, working many years with several local companies. Mr. Johnson, an avid hunter, was founder and president of Coal Bluff Hunting Club for 25 years, where he had many friends. He also was an outdoorsman who loved fishing, gardening and working with his tractor. Mr. Johnson was family oriented, being a loving husband, father, and grandfather. He is preceded in death by his parents; brother, Lewis A. Johnson; sisters, Delores Burnside and Bonnie Singletary. Survivors include his wife of over 35 years, Linda Thompson Johnson of Jackson; son, Larry Johnson (Lillian) of Raymond; daughter, Andria Clark of Jackson; sisters Diane Johnson of Lena; Argie Lomax (Billy Ray) of Lena and Betty Roberts of Nashville, TN; grandchildren, Brett, Brandi, Hannah and Ashley; three great grandchildren.
