Charles “Charlie” Knight Nicholson, 60, of Brandon, MS, died March 29, 2014 at home. He was born in Jackson, MS on December 6, 1953. Charlie graduated with a degree in Forestry from McNeese State University in Lake Charles, LA, where he met his wife of 33 years. He was a member of Crossgates United Methodist Church. Charlie worked as a District Sales Manager for Kemira Chemical. He developed many friendships in the pulp & paper industry. Aside from work Charlie loved the outdoors and was a tree farmer, avid hunter, and cyclist. Charlie was a member of the G & N Deer Club in Scott County. Shortly before Charlie was diagnosed he was able to do two things he had always wanted to do: He performed a tandem skydive, and he traveled to London, Scotland and Ireland with his wife. Charlie is survived by his wife, Vicki Jernigan Nicholson; children, Sara Fries (Patrick) of Columbus, OH; and Hunter Nicholson of Brandon, MS. He is also survived by his mother, Jean Knight Nicholson, and his sister, Susan Weems (Tommy) of Ridgeland, MS, and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his father, Charles Owen Nicholson. A visitation with the family will be held on Friday, April 4 from 5:00-7:00 pm at Crossgates United Methodist Church in Brandon. A memorial service will be held at the church on Saturday, April 5 at 11:00 am, with visitation at 10:00 am. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Crossgates UMC or the National Brain Tumor Society. .
