Charles W. Renfrow, Sr, 76, of Madison loved His Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, and is now with Him. He won his four-year battle with cancer on April 5, 2023, at home surrounded by his family. Visitation will be held at First Baptist Church of Madison on Monday, April 10, 2023, from 6pm to 8pm and Tuesday, from 10am to 11am. The service will follow at 11am at First Baptist Church of Madison at 2100 Main Street in Madison. Interment will follow at the Natchez Trace Cemetery located at 759 Hwy 51 in Madison.
Charles was born on November 14, 1946, in Jackson, Mississippi, to the late Lois and Eleanor Renfrow. Charles and Charlene Gilliland eloped on January 12, 1966. Together they owned Renfrow Insulation and Supply until 1999. Charles was involved in multiple ventures including part owner of Chancellor Funeral Home. Charles was a faithful member and deacon of First Baptist Church of Madison.
Charles is survived by his spouse of 57 years, Charlene Gilliland Renfrow; son, Hubie (Cheryl) Renfrow; daughter, Susan (Heath) Renfrow Lynch; brothers, Larry (Janie) Renfrow, Mike (Maribel) Renfrow; grandchildren, Kaitlyn (Steve) Chow, Alix (Justin) Hamil, Ross (Miller) Renfrow, Justin (Meredith) Renfrow, Abby (Hayden) Richardson; great grandchildren, Grayson and Gunner Hamil, Walt Chow, Charlie Renfrow, and 2 on the way. Pallbearers will be John Bell, Steve Chow, Justin and Grayson Hamil, Willie Nelson, Larry Quinn, Justin Renfrow, Ross Renfrow, and Hayden Richardson.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to St. Jude’s Children’s Research Hospital.
The family wishes to extend their sincere gratitude to Dr. Guangzhi Qu, M.D. and his staff; Dr. Keith Harris, M.D. and his staff; Dr. Chris Waterer III, M.D. and his staff; and the AccentCare Hospice staff.
