Mr. Charles Buddy Smith

July 25, 1940 — May 23, 2015

Mr. Charles “Buddy” Smith passed away May 23rd, 2015 at MS Baptist Medical Center in Jackson, MS. Visitation will be Tuesday, May 26, 2015 from 12:00pm until the 2pm Funeral Service at Chancellor Funeral Home in Byram, Mississippi. Burial will follow in Terry Cemetery. Buddy lived in the Byram area for 25 years and attended Parkway Baptist Church where he was baptized in 1953. He also visited Woodville Heights Baptist Church with his wife, Linda. In 1995 he retired from the Jackson Fire Department after being a firefighter for 32 years. Mr. Smith also was employed as an investigator for Day Detective from 1963 until 2001. He was a hard-worker and avid gold player. He is survived by his loving wife of 56 years, Linda Bell Smith of Jackson; his son, Chuck Smith of Clinton; two daughters, Jan (Steve) Williams of Terry and Debbie Patterson of Byram; two brothers Billy (Valerie) Smith of Willis, TX, Jimmy Smith of Hurley, MS; 4 grandchildren, Brandy Robertson, Brooke Mullins, Brittney Tannehill and Shelby Patterson; and 6 great-grandchildren. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Jackson Mississippi Fallen Firefighters Association.
