Charles Traylor

Charles P. Traylor, 83, passed away Tuesday, August 2, 2011 at the Palliative Care Unit at the VA Medical Center in Jackson. Visitation will be Friday, August 5, 2011 from 5-8 pm at Chancellor Funeral Home in Florence and Saturday from 11 am until the 4 pm service in the Chapel. Burial will follow at Clear Branch Cemetery in Florence. \ \ Mr. Traylor grew up in the Braxton-Harrisville area and was a member of New Zion Baptist Church. He served two terms in the U.S. Air Force. He was the owner and operator of Charlie's Heating and Air in Jackson and formerly owned Charlie's Metal Works in Bogalusa, LA. After retirement, he enjoyed cattle farming as a hobby.\ \ Mr. Traylor is preceded in death by his parents, George and Connie Traylor; 2 wives, Bennie Vee Trunage Traylor and Winnie Bell Brock Traylor; 2 sons, Ricky Joe Traylor and David Nathaniel Traylor; 5 brothers, Vernard J. Pruett, J.D. Pruett, O.D. Pruett, Marvin C. Pruett, and Raymond Odom; and 2 sisters, Sybil Pruett and Hilda B. Pruett.\ \ He is survived by 2 sons, Charles "Timmy" Traylor of Kentwood, LA and George "Randy" Traylor (Kim) of Varnado, LA; 3 daughters, Sandra D. Miranda (Francisco) of Florence, Connie F. Rosas of Raymond and Martha A. Miranda (Ricardo) of Greenville, NC; Step-daughters Shirley and Michelle; 1 brother, Dennis Traylor of Madison; 1 sister, Georgia Nan Turnage of Braxton; 17 grandchildren and 22 great grandchildren.\
