Mr. Chip Mikell

Joe Charles “Chip” Mikell, 78, passed away Monday, August 29, 2016 at St. Dominic Hospital in Jackson. Visitation will be 10:00am until the 11:00am funeral service Friday, September 2, 2016 at Parkway Baptist Church, 802 North Frontage Rd., Clinton, MS 39056. Interment will follow at Lakewood Memorial Park. Mr. Mikell was a lifelong resident of Jackson and lifelong member of Parkway Baptist Church. He earned his Civil Engineering degree from Mississippi State University and worked for the Mississippi Highway Dept. (MDOT). He is preceded in death by his Parents Charles Lamar Mikell m. Ollie Mae Ball; Grandparents (gps) Joe Ball m. Donis Mae Moore Great grandparents (g gps): Sampson Edward Ball, II m. Lucy Youngblood; gg gps: Jesse Warren Ball 2nd m. Cynthia Ann Alford; ggg gps: Sampson Edward Ball, I first m. Elizabeth Warren; gggg gps: Edward Ball m. Rebecca Baker-Jones. Survivors include his special friend Margarett Basco and numerous cousins.
