Clara Conlee Horne, 94, of Raymond, MS went to see Jesus April 15, 2017. She was born on February 20, 1923, to Sir Floyd & Mary Magdalene Barfield of Harperville, MS. Clara was a cosmetologist and former owner of Adorn Salon of Beauty. She was a hairdresser and makeup artist for numerous funeral homes in the Jackson area. Clara was a member of First Baptist Church of Byram, a lifetime member of the Moose Lodge, and an active member for many years in the ABWA and was voted woman of the year in 1976. She was also voted boss of the year in 1981. She is survived by daughters Billie (Leslie) Buford and Laura (Donald) Goodman; son-in-law, Marshall Mahaffey; six grandchildren: Brad Mullen, Marci Craft, Jeff Felts, Lee Felts, Latrica Miller and Christi McKenzie; seven great-grandchildren and many that she claimed as family. She is preceded in death by husbands, William Ray Conlee and Jimmie Horne and daughter Brenda Mahaffey. Special thanks to Dr. George Smith-Vanez for the many years of love and care. Visitation will be Sunday, April 16, 2017 from 5-8pm and Monday, April 17, 2017, from 1pm until the 2pm Funeral Service all at Chancellor Funeral Home in Byram. Interment will follow at Lakewood South in Jackson.
