Mrs. Clara Elizabeth Rutland, 81, passed away Thursday, May 17, 2012 at Hospice Ministries in Ridgeland. A funeral service will be held at 11:00 AM Monday at Chancellor Funeral Home in Byram with graveside services following the funeral at 2:30 PM at Hathorn Cemetery in Bassfield , MS . Visitation is 5-8 PM Sunday, May 20 and 10-11 AM Monday, May 21, all at Chancellor Funeral Home in Byram.\ Mrs. Rutland was born May 11, 1931 in Bassfield , MS to the late Frank W. and Edna Robbins Hathorn. A devout Christian, Mrs. Rutland was very secure in her faith and served her Lord as a member of Van Winkle Baptist Church and later at Wildwood Baptist Church . She was a beloved mother and grandmother and will be greatly missed by her family.\ Mrs. Rutland was preceded in death by her parents, and also by her daughter, Cherry Magee DeIorio; brother, Frank Hathorn; and sister, Tommie Lou Schuette. She is survived by her daughter, Tammy Magee Green (Donn) of Lawrenceville , GA ; son, Todd Rutland (Stacie) of Byram; and daughter, Michelle Rutland Young (Ray) of Florence .
