Claude Auther "Pop" Christman Sr.

Claude Auther Christman Sr. “Pop”, 74, passed away peacefully Saturday, February 9, 2019 at the home of his daughter in Raymond, with family by his side. Visitation will be 10-11 am Monday, February 11, 2019, at Chancellor Funeral Home, followed by an 11 am Funeral service in the Chapel. Interment will be 4pm at Elliot Cemetery in Cascilla, MS. Auther was born December 28, 1944 in Brazil, MS to Aubrey and Irene Christman. He attended West Tallahatchie High School, graduating in 1962. September 4, 1965, Auther married the love of his life, Carolyn Smith, of Newbern, NC. Their home was in Byram and he worked as a mechanic most of his life. Auther is preceded in death by his wife, parents, one sister and seven brothers. He is survived by one brother, Alton (Marie) Christman of Brandon, his three children, Danny (Stephanie) Christman of Florence, MS; Doug (Susan) Christman of Terry, MS; Theresa (James) Kelly of Raymond, MS; Grandchildren: Courtney (Brandon), Cole, Elason, Carson, Will, and Sarah Avery; great grandson, Hudson. Auther has many nieces, nephews and special friends who have treasured their time with him.
