Mr. Clifton Joe (CJ, Sonny) Walker Sr

Clifton Joe (Sonny) Walker, Sr. peacefully passed away at the age of 75 from an extended illness in his home on Friday, November 9, 2018. He was born July 10, 1943 in Terry, Mississippi, the son of Clifton Roy and Lula Mae Walker of Terry, Mississippi. He was the fourth of nine siblings. He lived in Crystal Springs, Mississippi for the past 50 years. He was a faithful member of First Baptist Church of Terry. Clifton retired from Western Electric with 34 years’ service as an Installer. Clifton loved his family and enjoyed wood carving, fishing, and hunting. He served as a Gideon, and those who knew him, knew that he was a born-again believer in our Lord Jesus Christ. He is survived by his wife of 54 years, Jackie Allgood Walker. Surviving, in addition to his wife, are his sons, Clifton Joe Walker, Jr., wife Angie, of Taft, Tennessee, Lonnie Paul Walker, wife Becky, of Crystal Springs, Mississippi, Richard Brian Walker of New Hebron, Mississippi, William Shane Walker of Crystal Springs, Mississippi; eight grandchildren, Zachery, AJ, Lauren, Courtney, Alex, Casey, Hunter, and Kaylee; many nieces and nephews. A memorial service will be held at Pilgrims Rest Baptist Church, 3121 Didlake Road, Crystal Springs, Mississippi, on Sunday, November 18. Visitation will begin at 2:00 pm with services following at 3:30. In lieu of flowers please make donations to your local Gideon or Gideons International.
