Cordelia “Kay” Miles was an active member of Emmanuel Church of the Nazarene, a Sunday School teacher for teens and adults, and a Girl Scout troop leader. She is survived by her daughters Marian Alderman (Gary Alderman) and Teresa Chapman, her grandchildren Amber Noble (Erik Noble), Crystal Reed (John Reed), Candace Morgan (Isaac Morgan), and Jacob Chapman, and her great grandchildren Amelia Noble, Makenzie Reed, Maelin Morgan, and Leia Morgan.
Kay Miles was known for many things, her smile, her laughter, her sweet spirit, but above all she was known for her faith and trust in her Lord and Savior. She made it known everywhere she went that she was a daughter of the King. Her mission in life was to point her family to Jesus Christ. Her family meant everything. She taught them to put Christ first above all things and to share His love with everyone they meet. She prayed for their salvation, their children, and their future spouses.
She sought out adventures through traveling, waterskiing, camping, working in her rose garden, clogging in her 60s until her late 70s, going back to college in her 60s, , and through her books that she loved to read.
She was loved by everyone who met her. She knew how to make everyone feel loved and appreciated. Her family will always miss her but one day they will see her again. Until then, her legacy will continue through her children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren. The great granddaughters already show so much of their Mamaw in them. They will continue to make her proud.
