Corinne hood Newton, 92, died in Jackson, MS, on Wednesday, October 1, 2008, at Lakeland Nursing and Rehab Center. She will be laid to rest with her parents and husband at Valhalla Memory Gardens. A memorial service will be held graveside at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, October 4, 2008, at Valhalla Memory Gardens, 310 N. Johnson Ave., in Bloomington, IN. Chancellor Funeral Home in Byram, Mississippi is handling arrangements.\ \ Born in Bloomington Indiana on December 17, 1915, Newton graduated from Short Ridge High School and Butler University in Indianapolis. She married Roy William Newton on April 4, 1944. They and their 2 daughters moved to Saginaw, Michigan in 1951. In 1956 they moved to Lexington, Kentucky. Mr. Newton died in 1959. She continued to live and work in Kentucky until she moved to Jackson, Mississippi in 1973 to live with her daughter Suzanne.\ \ Known to her daughters and "Mum", Newton is survived by her daughters, Suzanne Hood Newton Cook Saunders (Hubbard) of Canton, MS, and Rosalind Kay Newton McFall (Larry) of Louisville, KY.\ \ In lieu of flowers the family requests memorials be made to the Autism Society of America or you local autism affiliate.\
