Curley D. Champion, 83, passed away at his home on January 11, 2025 from complications of Alzheimer's. Mr. Champion was born at home in Terry and lived in Jackson for a few years but returned to Terry in the early 1960's. He began a building business and did very well but his love for cars finally lured him into the used auto business and in 1969 he opened Champion's Used Cars, Inc. He built an office in Terry and stayed there until he moved to McDowell Rd. in Jackson. He remained there for 30 plus years until he was forced to retire because of poor health.
Curley loved the Lord, his family and cars. He liked country music and watching his grandsons play sports, and Sandra's banana pudding. He never met a stranger and would help anyone who needed it.
Curley was the youngest of seven children, born to J. B. and Neomie Champion, now deceased. His brothers Ray and J.B. Jr., sisters Vera Whittington, Nellie Faye Hackler and Doris Kemp precede him in death. He is survived by one sister Christine Stevens (Kenneth) from Brandon.
Mr. Champion is survived by his wife of 65 years , Peggy . His children are Regina Jones (Jeff,deceased), Sandra McCraney (Steve) and Lisa Honeycutt (Jamie),from Terry, 8 grand children and 6 great grandchildren.
