Dale Howell Dodson,71, has passed away peacefully at his home surrounded by his family. Dale affectionately called "Rabbit" by his close friends was born July 1, 1952, to Everett Joel Dodson and Annie Wolverton Dodson in Union, MS, He was a beloved husband, father, brother, uncle, and grandfather.
Dale was a native of Utica, MS but had lived in Byram for many years. He worked for Capital City Beverage in Jackson and had retired from a long career in sales. His presence will be deeply missed by his family and friends. He was known for his passion for collecting firearms and enjoyed attending Gun & Knife Shows never missing one that came to the area. As well as an avid coin collector later in life and he took great pride in his collection, he also enjoyed hunting, fishing, and cooking. His love for these hobbies brought joy and fulfillment to his life. He was seldom without his four-legged companion, Cobie and the two of them enjoyed many walks and adventures side by side.
Above all else, Dale cherished his family and adored spending time with his grandchildren. His memory will live on through his wife of 25 years, Sarah M. Dodson; daughters Kimberly Durr (David) of Bossier City, LA and Kelly Curan (Rusty) of Flower Mound, TX; grandchildren Austin Sharpley and Alleigh Mendiola (Chris), great granddaugher, Kynleigh, all of Bossier City, LA, and Ryder and Macy Curan both of Flower Mound, TX. He also leaves behind his mother, Annie Dodson of Byram, MS; sister-in-law Angela Dodson, brother David Dodson (Ruth) of Wisconsin, a sister, CIndy Zandieh (Amir) of Duarte, CA, as well as, nieces and nephews, Tanner (Hannah), Tyler (Adrianna), David Jr (Penny), Eric (Stephanie), Jaclyn (Shayne), Shelly (Danny), great nieces and nephews as well as many friends.
In his journey to eternity, he is reunited with his father, Everett Dodson and brother, Joel Dodson.
Dale Howell Dodson will be remembered for his kind heart, love for family, and passion for collecting. May he rest in peace as his spirit lives on in the hearts of those who knew him.
