Mr. Dale Mitchell Morris

Dale Mitchell Morris, 67, went to Heaven November 4, 2016 at his home in Terry, MS with his family around him. Mr. Dale Morris, or “Poppy” as called by his grandchildren, was born December 29, 1948 to John and Virginia “Ditty” Morris in Jackson, MS. He attended Provine High School in Jackson. On June 20, 1970, he married his wonderful wife Ann Hiatt, and they had two children Jennifer Ann and Kenneth Mitchell. He loved coaching, golfing, being goofy, and enthusiastically cheering on his kids and Ole Miss. Dale retired in 2013 from Henry Schein. In retirement, he enjoyed playing with his dog Mollie Mae. Dale Morris was preceded in death by his father, John Morris; his mother, “Ditty” Morris; his brothers, Jackie Morris and J.T. Simmons; and his nephew, Tayloe Simmons. Survivors include: his wife, Ann Morris; daughter, Jennifer Morris; son, Ken (Heather) Morris; four grandchildren, Katelyn, John, Ava Grace, and Paxton; brother, Larry (Linda) Morris and family; sister, Barbara (Floyd) Taylor and family; and sister-in-law, Betty Simmons and family. Visitation and service will be at Chancellor Funeral Home in Byram, MS. Visitation will be held Sunday, Nov. 6 from 5-8pm and Monday, Nov. 7 from 1-2pm with the service at 2:00pm.
