Daniel “Dan” Frank Clark died Sunday, October 23, 2016 while surrounded by family and friends. A short but serious illness took his life. Dan was born, November 28, 1936 in Jackson, MS. His career was law enforcement having served as a M.P. in the Army for 20 years and as a Jackson police officer and 20 years as Chief Investigator with the Hinds County District Attorney’s Office. His life and passion first and foremost was his wife, Fran and children Debbie Williamson, Cindy Thomas (deceased), Valerie Moak, Gary Giramonti (deceased), Perry Giramonti, Sr., Kathy Myers and Karla Giramonti. His fun and passion was hunting, fishing and golf. He excelled at the hunting and fishing. He loved golf, but golf didn’t love him. He is teeing off on the most beautiful course in heaven. Maybe he’ll get to play a round with Arnold Palmer, an extremely short, a par round. Then maybe he will go fishing with Peter, the disciple. Dan knows heaven has to have some beautiful lakes because even Jesus liked to fish. He didn’t know whether heaven had hunting, he knew there would be beautiful food plots to sit and enjoy God’s beauty. Dan believed in God and found his worship in the beauty of God’s nature. He recognized his salvation before death. He loved and was best friends with his brothers Claude and Randy. The three of them were inseparable and traveled over the United States and Canada. On the last day and last hour of the hunt, he had a huge male bear in his sight with his brothers telling him, “shoot, shoot.” He looked through his scope and said, “bang.” He loaded up and said, “the bear knew and I knew.” Dan had good friends, too numerous to count. They all know who they are. Dan was preceded in death by his wife and best friend, Fran, his parents, Frank and Evelyn Clark, his daughter Cindy Thomas and son, Gary Giramonti. He is survived by his children, Debbie Williamson, Valerie (Greg) Moak, Perry (Angela) Giramoni, Sr., Kathy Myers and Karla Giramonti, brothers, Claude and Randy Clark, numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren. Visitation will be at Chancellor Funeral Home in Florence on October 25th, 2016, 11:30am with the service there at 1:00pm in the chapel. No graveside as he didn’t want to be put in a box cause he might wake up and couldn’t get out.
