Danny Rudon Moore

Danny Rudon Moore passed into the loving arms of Jesus on Tuesday, January 24, 2023.  He was 83 years old. The family will receive friends for visitation on Wednesday, January 25, 2023, from 6:00 p.m.- 9:00 p.m. and Thursday, January 26, 2023, from 9:00 a.m. – 10:00 a.m. at Chancellor Funeral Home in Florence. The funeral service will follow at 10:00 a.m. Interment will be at 1:00 p.m. at MS Veterans Memorial Cemetery in Newton, Mississippi.

Mr. Moore was born on May 15, 1939, to Gilbert and Ida Moore in Leake County, Mississippi.  He was raised in Philadelphia, lived in Jackson for many years, then in Florence for the past 20 years. Danny was a member of Harrisville Baptist Church.  He served in the United States Army and National Guard. He enjoyed working in his yard and was self-employed as a paint contractor.

Danny is preceded in death by his parents and siblings, Sonny, Janet, Sharla, and Francis.  He is survived by his wife Gerry Moore of 60 years; daughters, Missy Crawford (Rusty) of Brandon; son, Chris Moore (Christie) of Florence; grandchildren; Ian Crawford, Laney Crawford, and Maggie Moore; and several nieces and nephews.
