Darrin Layne Tucker, an adoring husband, father, son, and brother, passed away on Sunday, May 10, 2020 at his home in Jackson. He was 52. The family will host a come-and-go visitation at his home (278 Sundown Trail, Jackson, MS 39212) on Wednesday, May 13 from 2:00 p.m.—5:00 p.m. The family requests that attendees follow the CDC guidelines regarding COVID-19 by practicing social distancing and wearing masks. A long-time resident of the Pearl and Jackson area, Mr. Tucker was the son of Larry Tucker and Mary Beth Savell Tucker born on July 31, 1967 in El-reno, Oklahoma. He was a 1985 graduate of Byram High School and earned his degrees in Business and Marketing Management and the PGM Program from Mississippi State University. Mr. Tucker served our country as a veteran of the US Air Force. In his spare time, Darrin loved fishing, hunting, golfing, and watching SEC football. He was an avid sportsman. His daughter, Lauryn, was his “baby girl” and his heart. He was preceded in death by his mother, Mary Beth Tucker and brother, David Tucker. He is survived by his wife of 28 years, Mary Katherine “Katie” Tucker; daughter, Lauryn Tucker; father, Larry Tucker; sister, Lisa Beth (Marc) Mitchell and their son, Kyle; mother-in-law, Bobbie Lewis; brothers, Bruce Wallace and Ernest Lone; brothers-by-love, Eddie Chapa and Terry Price; adopted-by-love daughter, Traci (Stephen) Owens and sons, Jon Price and Samuel Owens; nieces, nephews, and extended family; a host of friends; and his faithful companions, his dogs, Luna and Tippy. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Myasthenia Gravis Foundation at myasthenia.org.
