Mr. David Covington

Hubert David Covington, 76, went to be with the Lord on Monday, October 4th , 2021. Visitation will be Wednesday, October 6th from 11:00 a.m. until 1:00 p.m. at Chancellor Funeral Home in Florence, MS. Funeral Services will be at 1:00 p.m. the same day with burial to follow in Glenwood Memorial Park in Richland, MS. David was born on February 6, 1945 in Jackson, MS. He retired after 35 years as a supervisor in the City of Jackson’s Engineering Department. He attended First Baptist Church of Richland, MS .He was preceded in death by his father, Hugh Covington Jr; mother, Ruth Covington Boleware; brother, Johnny Owen Covington; and wife, Janice Covington. He is survived by his daughter, Kathy Cooper (Lance); grandsons, Hunter Miller (Breanna) (& Brooks Cooper); granddaughter, Haley Cooper; great-grandchildren, Maddy Grace Miller and Bentley Avery Miller; step-daughters, Pam Upton (Scotty), Stephanie Hayles (Jerry) and Misty Hamil (Jamie); brother, Willie H. Covington (Inez) of Madison; sister, Charlotte Cole of Madison; and sister-in-law, Cheryl Covington of Terry; along with numerous nieces and nephews. Pallbearers will be: Hunter Miller, Mancy Miller, Chad Covington, Scott Cole, Scott Herrington and Jerry Hayles. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to St Jude Children’s Research Hospital in Memphis, TN in his name.
