William David Hood, 70, of Jackson died Thursday, October 28, 2010. Visitation will be 5-8pm Friday, October 29, 2010 and 10am until the 11am funeral service Saturday October 30, 2010 all at First Pentecostal Church, 5000 I-55 South, Jackson, MS. Burial will follow at Lakewood Memorial Park. Chancellor Funeral Home of Byram in charge of arrangements.\ \ David was born May 12, 1940, to Willie L. and Lillie Toombs Hood. He attended school in Carmack and Vaiden. For many years, David was a barber in Jackson and Pearl. He was later employed at Western Auto Distribution Center. \ \ David faithfully served the Lord at First Pentecostal Church in Jackson for 42 years. He was involved as a Sunday School Teacher, the bus ministry, and the choir.\ \ He was an accomplished musician. David loved to play the piano, guitar, and harmonica. He touched the lives of many by sharing his music.\ \ David is survived by his beloved wife of 44 years, Judith Allen Hood; daughter, Alicia Box, son-in-law Danny Box and granddaughter Hannah Box, all of Lucedale; sister, Velma Warrene Hood of Clinton; brother, James L. Hood of Clinton.\ \ He was preceded in death by a precious daughter, Tamera Hood; sisters, Susalene Hood and Ida Vaughn; brother, Howard Hood and parents, Willie L. and Lillie Toombs Hood.\ \
