David \Nick\"" Nichols, II

David A. "Nick" Nichols II, 51, passed away Sunday, August 30, 2009 in Jackson. Visitation will be 5-8pm Tuesday, September 1, 2009 at Chancellor Funeral Home in Byram and 10am until the 11am funeral service Wednesday, September 2, 2009 at Grace Episcopal Church in Canton. Interment will follow in Canton Cemetery.\ \ Nick was a graduate of MS Baptist High School and received his BA and Masters degree from University of Southern MS. He taught Criminal Justice at Hinds Community College and was retired from the Jackson Police Department. Nick loved Rugby and organized the team at University of Southern MS and played on the Jackson team for 20 years.\ \ He is preceded in death by his father, David Allerson "Jack" Nichols. Survivors include his wife Carolyn Sutherland Nichols of Edwards; mother, Rose Marie Nichols of Terry; sister, Jackie Chamberlain and husband Gene of Decatur, IL; niece Taylor and nephew Aiden Chamberlain.\ \ Memorials may be made to the American Diabetes or American Heart Association.
