Mr. Dayton C. Callender,78, passed away Monday April 26, 2010 at home in Jackson. Visitation will be 5 until 8 pm Friday, April 30, 2010 and 10 until service Saturday at Chancellor Funeral Home in Byram. Services are in the funeral home chapel at 11am Saturday, May 1, 2010. Burial will follow at Lakewood Memorial Park in Jackson. \ \ Mr. Callender grew up in Utica and had lived in Jackson since 1955. He retired from Jackson Coca-Cola in 1992 where he started in 1955 as a route salesman and worked his way up to General Manager, the position he held at his retirement. He spent his retirement years enjoying time with his beloved wife of 51 years, Jean Breeden Callender and his 5 grandchildren. He was a faithful and active member of the Siwell Road Church of Christ.\ \ Mr. Callender is preceded in death by his parents, Jessie and Georgie Callender; his siblings, Lucy Matthews, Mildred Massey, Jack Callender, Lee Callender, and Wilmer Callender; and his precious wife, Jeannie Callender. Survivors include daughter Dana and husband Andy Dulaney of Raymond and their children Drew, Camille and Olivia; daughter Debie and husband Bill Deaton of Little Rock, AR and their children Max and Chloe; 4 sisters-in-law, many nieces and nephews and countless friends.\ \ We would like to offer a special thank you to his niece Martha Wingate and to family friend Gloria Rester for everything you did for him in these last few months. You helped him stay at home until he went to his eternal home. We love you both.\ \ Memorials may be made to Siwell Road Church of Christ and Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation.
