Dean L. MaKinster

Dean L. MaKinster died December 18, 2008 at the age of 66. Mr. MaKinster is survived by his wife of 44 years JoAnne MaKinster, children JoDean DeSilva, Elizabeth Stegeman, Jennifer Smith, Dean "Skip" MaKinster, and Erin MaKinster; siblings Debbie Shea, Tom MaKinster, Dennis MaKinster, Joe MaKinster, John MaKinster, and Kelly Lattin. He is preceded in death by his parents, Otto and Elizabeth MaKinster, sister, Georgianna LeForce and Sissi Lee MaKinster.\ \ Dean grew up in Elmira, NY. He was a graduate of the State University of New York at Morrisville in the School of Hotel and Restaurant and Florida State University where he learned to love the South. Dean eventually settled in Jackson and was employed by MMI Hotel Group until retirement. Mr. MaKinster was a well respected businessman and served on the board of many civic organizations and businesses.
