Mr. Dearld Dear

Dearld Dear, 68, passed away Monday, July 25, 2016 at the Veteran’s Hospital in Jackson. Visitation will be Wed. July 27th from 5-8 PM and Thurs. July 28th from 10 AM until the 11 AM Funeral Service at Chancellor Funeral Home in Florence. Burial will follow at New Zion Baptist Church Cemetery. Mr. Dear was a graduate of Florence High School. He retired from Bell South after 30 years and was the president of CWA for Bell South for approximately 14 years. He also served on the Board for the MS Firefighters Burn Center Association. Mr. Dear was preceded in death by his parents, Grady and Helen Dear; nephews, Kenny Richardson and David Allen Sims, Jr.; and niece, Denise Dear. He is survived by his wife of 43 years, Avis Dear of Braxton and he was the guardian of Alicia (Chris) Bartholomew of D’Lo and Summer LeAnn Sims of Tulsa, OK; other survivors include his brothers, Harold Dear of Richland, Jeral Dear of Richland, and Grady (Jan) Dear of Harrisville; his sisters, Carol (Arthur) Dortch of Pearl, Dianne White of Richland, Rose (Albert) Bridges of Florence, and Bobbie Jean (Larry) Bridges of Winona; many nieces, nephews, and one great niece.
