Mrs. Debbie C. Sumrall

Debbie Cothern Sumrall, 59 of Florence, MS passed away Tuesday, July 29, 2014. She was born in Tylertown, MS, May 21, 1955 to Leroy and Opal Cothern. She married Clifford Sumrall in 1973 and they remained a devoted couple for 0ver 40 years. Debbie became a mother to the late Jessica Renee Sumrall in 1979. She worked for Ergon Oil Corp. as a dedicated member of the accounting department for 29 years. Debbie is survived by her husband Clifford Sumrall of Florence, MS, her parents Opal and Leroy Cothern of Enon, MS, her sister Betty Carol Cothern of Taylorsville, MS her brother and sister-in-law Chris & Traci Cothern of Terry, MS, her sister-in-law Bettye Wilkerson of Richland, MS, brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Author & Sue Sumrall of Crystal Springs, MS, brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Chuck & Teresa Freemyer of Harrisville, MS and numerous nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her brother Michael LeRoy Cothern. Funeral arrangements will be held at Chancellor Funeral Home in Byram, MS – visitation 5:00-8:00 P.M. Thursday, July 31 and 9:30 A.M Friday, August 1. The funeral services will be 10:00 A.M. Friday, August 1 at Chancellor Funeral Home with grave side service 2:00P.M. Friday at Enon Cemetery, 1449 MS 583, Jayess, MS. Debbie’s life is not defined by her birthday or the day she left this world to be with The Lord, but instead, her life is defined by the loving relationships she had between these dates. She was a dedicated and loving daughter, wife, mother, sister, aunt, employee and friend. Her optimistic perspective was infectious, uplifting and encouraging. She will truly be truly missed and we celebrate her life because she enriched the lives of all she knew. We Love You Debbie.
