Debbie Kay Young

Debbie Kay Young passed away at her home in Richland, MS on Tuesday, February 13, 2024. She was 68 years old. The family will receive friends for visitation from 1:00-3:00 p.m. on Monday, February 19, 2024, at Chancellor Funeral Home in Florence. The Memorial service will follow at 3:00 p.m.

Debbie was born on October 17, 1955, to Elmer Henry Davis and Mae Reeves Davis in Water Valley, MS. She lived most of her life in Clinton and moved to Richland in 1999. Debbie worked for The Policy Center in Jackson for 19 years as an Administrative Assistant. Her life was her children and grandchildren. They meant the world to her. She loved arts and crafts and enjoyed shopping. Debbie loved God and enjoyed watching and listening to sermons. She will truly be missed.

Debbie is preceded in death by her parents; sisters, Sandra Cameron, Mary Cruise, and Melba Webb; brother, Buddy Davis; and grandson Jeremy Hefner Jr. She is survived by her children, Jeremy Hefner (Renee) of Pearl, Suzy Harper (Kevin) of Richland, Hope Olivier (Kenny) of Brandon, Shane Cameron of Pearl, and Kimberly Cockrell (Jeremy) of Pearl; grandchildren, Mallory Montgomery, Kenley Olivier, Drake Harper, Halen Hefner, and Wyatt Harper; sister, Janice Hopkins of Pearl; brothers, Billy Davis of Pearl, and Henry Davis (Sandra) of Byram; and brother-in-law, Terry Webb of Clinton.
