Mrs. Delores W. Renfrow, 77, passed away Saturday, August 20, 2016 at Hospice Ministries in Ridgeland, MS. Visitation will be 5-8pm Tuesday, August 23, 2016 at Chancellor Funeral Home in Byram. Funeral Services are 10am Wednesday, August 24, 2016 at Alta Woods Baptist Church with interment at Lakewood South Memorial Park. Mrs. Renfrow was a graduate of Southeastern Louisiana University with a B.S. degree in Home Economics. She answered God’s call on her life and served as a Southern Baptist Missionary to Colombia, South America from 1973 to 1984. After returning to the United States, she worked and retired as a teacher in the Jackson Public School System. Mrs. Renfrow was a devoted member of Alta Woods Baptist Church and continued her mission work through home missions, Women’s Missionary Union, hospital chaplaincy, and as a foreign missionary in many countries around the world including Thailand, China, Japan, Ukraine, Russia, Jordan, and Israel. Mrs. Renfrow was a lifelong artist and a member of the Mississippi Artists Guild. She was preceded in death by her parents, William Walker and Audrey Clark Walker; and her husband, Lois Renfrow. She is survived by her daughter, Karen Ballard Thomas of Byram; her son, Jerry Ballard and daughter-in-law Elizabeth of Vicksburg; three sisters, Celeste Brunner of Houston, TX, Bernice Perkins of Ponchatoula, LA, and Joanna (Walter) Parker of Houston, TX, 4 grandchildren, Austin and Connor Battenfield of Brandon and Will and Mary-Elizabeth Ballard of Vicksburg. Memorials may be made to the Lottie Moon Mission Fund at Alta Woods Baptist Church.
