Mr. Delton Moore

February 27, 1945 — January 22, 2017

Delton was born February 27, 1945 in New Orleans, LA, adopted and raised in Jackson, MS. He attended Raymond HS, Hinds Junior College, earned a B.S. from MC, and a Pharmacy degree from Northeast Louisiana State College. He worked as a Pharmacist for over 40 years, owning his own store, Delton Moore Discount Drugs in Pearl for most of that time. He met the love of his life Peggy Dodd Moore on a blind date on Friday, November 13, 1964, and they were happily married for 49 1/2 years. He was a 32° Scottish Rite Mason, York Rite Mason, Wahabi Shriner and Past Director and member of the Royal Order of the Jesters. He was an avid hunter, loved working in his garden, and spending his time with his two precious grandchildren. At 50 he found his biological mother and siblings that he remained close to. He was preceded in death by his parents Dr. Temple Moore and Lucille Moore and brother Carlos "Cob" Moore. He is survived by his wife Peggy Dodd Moore of Terry; his sons Montie Moore (Kelly) of Morton and Mitchell Moore (Natalie) of Brandon; Grandchildren Keeton Moore of Morton and Madelyn Moore of Brandon; his brothers Tommy Moore (Gloria) of Terry, Grady Bryant (Louise) of Hacienda Heights, CA; his sisters Bonnie Bryant of Vicksburg and Darlene Hall (Gordon) of Panama City, FL. Visitation: 5pm to 8pm Thursday, January 26 at Chancellor Funeral Home in Byram. Services at Lakeshore Church Friday, January 27, 2pm.
