Derrek Waldon Richardson, age 31, born on March 23, 1979 to Danny and Connie Richardson, left this earthly life to live with his Lord on May 24, 2010. Visitation will be 5-8pm Friday, May 28, 2010 at Chancellor Funeral Home in Byram. Services will be at 2pm Saturday, May 29, 2010 at First Baptist Church of Terry with a one hour visitation prior to the service at the church. Interment will follow at Terry Cemetery.\ \ Derrek was an absolute joy in the lives of his parents. He accepted Christ as a child and carried that faith with him as he lived each day to the fullest.\ \ He spent many precious times with his dad sharing their love of motorcycle riding and their interest in guns.\ \ Derrek held a special place in his little (big) sister's heart. His lengthy calls and wonderful sense of humor will be greatly missed by Tracy.\ \ Derrek was more than an uncle. He was a friend, a mentor, a constant in the lives of Cade, Zach and Chase. He left an impression on their lives that can never be taken away.\ \ He lived a full life in his 31 years. Because of his genuine love for people, he developed close friendships that lasted throughout his lifetime.\ \ As a pediatric nurse, he touched many lives. He enjoyed numerous hobbies including rock climbing, kayaking and sky diving. His passion for Harley riding was shared by his dad and many friends.\ \ Derrek is survived by his parents, Danny and Connie Richardson of Terry, MS; sister, Tracy Parker (Randall) and nephews Cade, Zach and Chase of Terry, MS; ½ sister Michelle Martin (Jerry) and children of Greenwood, MS; grandparents, Frances Richardson of Byram, MS and George and Jean Roberson of Terry, MS; a host of family and friends; and especially Stella Lewis and Grant who held a very special place in Derrek's heart.\ \ He was preceded in death by grandfathers Dexter Waldon Richardson and Plas Julen (P.J.)
