D. L. Ware, 81, went home to be with his Lord Saturday, June 1, 2013. Visitation is 5-8 p.m. Sunday and 10-11 a.m. Monday at Chancellor Funeral Home in Byram. Funeral services are scheduled for 11 a.m. Monday in the funeral home chapel with burial to follow in Lakewood Memorial Park South. Mr. Ware was born August 18, 1931 to Dolphus and Cecil Turner. After graduating from Central High School and receiving a BS degree from Mississippi State University, he proudly served the country he loved in the US Air Force. He retired from the Internal Revenue Service after many years. While his health allowed, he attended Dayspring Community Church in Clinton, which he loved dearly. Most importantly, he loved his family. His wife, children and grandchildren were his heart. He was preceded in death by his parents; son-in-law, Robert E. Stubbs; brother, Hamilton T. Ware; and sister Geraldine Ware Poole. He is survived by the love of his life and wife of 63 years, Lucy Jones Ware of Byram; daughters, Kimberly Ware Stubbs of Terry, and Kristi Ware Griffin of Brandon; grandchildren, Corey Griffin, Emily Stubbs, Ethan Stubbs, and Ericka Griffin; brother, Paul David Ware of Grand Prairie, TX; and numerous nephews and nieces.
