Don Edgar Moore, Sr

Don Edgar Moore, Sr., affectionately known to his family and friends as "Mo" or "Jake," passed away on March 15, 2025, in Byram, Mississippi, at the age of 59. He was born on April 2, 1965, in Meadville, Mississippi to Forrest Moore, Sr and Rosie McDonald.

Mo was a man who cherished his family above all else. An unwavering advocate for the importance of family, he often imparted wisdom to his children about the value of putting family first. He took great pride in teaching his sons how to be men, instilling in them the virtues of hard work and dedication. Mo’s positive spirit made him a joy to be around; he was always upbeat, fun, and possessed an infectious enthusiasm for life. His ten grandkids lovingly called him "Pop Pop," a testament to the special bond he shared with them.

Mo had a wide range of interests that brought him immense joy, including fishing, hunting, and tailgating. His adventurous spirit was exemplified by his membership in the Free Spirit RV Club, where he shared many memorable moments with fellow enthusiasts. A devoted member of Word of Life Church for many years, he found great comfort and community there during his 22 years in Byram. He enjoyed his career as a truck driver and saw so much of the world behind that big steering wheel.

He is survived by his loving wife of 39 years, Shinny Cole Moore, and their children: Don Moore, Jr. , Arika Moore, Dontarrius Moore, and Aaleyah Moore. Additionally, he leaves behind a goddaughter, Victoria Mitchell, as well as his father, Forrest Moore Sr., two sisters,  and four brothers, who will all miss him deeply.

He was preceded in death by his mom; 3 sisters, Renea Tinsley, Delois McDonald, Ollie Briggs, and a brother, Forrest Moore, Jr.
