Donald was born to Jessie and Harley “Pete” Pullen in the community of Big Creek, MS. He attended
the school in Big Creek, and joined the US Navy after graduation. He married Joan Magness in 1959.
After his time in the Navy, Don made his career in the Heavy Equipment business, and worked with
Caterpillar dealerships in the Jackson, MS area, as well as Heavyquip in Pearl, MS until retirement.
Don was passionate about his work with heavy machinery, and was a dedicated worker. Over the years,
he enjoyed helping coach his daughter's softball team, coaching his son's soccer teams, and girl's
soccer. He was raised with a love for music, and fostered a love for guitar playing in his children, and
enjoyed playing his guitars, and going to jam sessions with friends. And most of all he enjoyed the
simple things, like just being home with Joan, and his beloved puppy, Peanut.
Don is preceded in death by his father Harley, his mother Jessie, and brothers David and Bob. He is
survived by his wife Joan, son James, daughter Lisa King, granddaughter Skye King Roberson
(Christian), grandson Trannie King, and great grandson Theodore Roberson, and his little sister May
Etta Lollar.
As a father, grandfather, husband, or friend, he was the best anyone could be blessed with. His patient,
gentle spirit, big heart, and wicked wit will be painfully missed.
